PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING

A fresh start. A wholehearted commitment.

We believe in you. Your life has purpose. It is not too late for a fresh start. Asking for help takes courage, and we are ready to walk alongside you.

Jesus is at the center of everything.

RSM is fully faith-based. Daily prayer, worship, Bible study, and classes about Jesus are central to life here. God’s Word is our foundation and final authority; we believe lasting transformation grows through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and living out His Word.

Our teachings address pain, patterns beneath addiction, and emotional and psychological well-being through a biblical lens.

Morning prayer in the War Room

Every morning, students gather for 20 minutes of required out-loud prayer together, followed by 10 minutes of silent prayer or quietly listening to the Lord.

If praying aloud is new to you, a prayer manual or journal is available to read from as you grow in confidence. Perfect words are not expected. Willingness to participate is part of the commitment.

Structure, service & daily responsibility

Expect a structured, respectful environment with classes, chores, and meaningful work assignments such as cleaning, organizing, serving, thrift-store work, office tasks, fundraising, and box-truck assignments. Work therapy is typically eight hours a day; admissions will explain your schedule and physical requirements.

RSM is nicotine-free: no smoking, vaping, or dip. Come ready to participate, receive guidance, and practice a different way of living.

Connection within healthy boundaries

Communication is limited to approved immediate family and legal spouses, subject to program rules. Contact with friends connected to a past lifestyle of substance use is not permitted. Unmarried romantic partners may begin approved communication at the 10-month mark.

Women only: The first 30 days are letters only, with no calls or visits. This waiting period does not apply to men. Afterward, scheduled calls and visits follow campus availability and student eligibility. See campus schedules and exceptions.

Growing into responsibility

Personal phones are not allowed during the first six months. In Phase 3, beginning around month six, students may receive a program-issued phone, leadership responsibilities, home passes, and biweekly financial support as they learn to manage greater freedom. Progression and privileges require leadership approval.

Explore the phases and optional transition around months 8–10.

Make an informed decision.

Our team is ready to answer your questions and help you understand the program’s daily life and expectations. If you are ready for a structured, Christ-centered environment, let’s talk about your next step.

A SAFE TRANSITION INTO RSM

When detox is needed

A clean drug screen is not required for admission, but you cannot enter the program intoxicated. A qualified medical professional should assess withdrawal risk before arrival. When medical detox is needed, complete it with a qualified provider and coordinate your transition with RSM admissions.

Do not abruptly stop prescribed medication or try to manage potentially dangerous withdrawal alone. If you drink heavily or regularly take medications such as Suboxone, Subutex, or methadone, discuss a safe plan with your prescriber or a qualified medical provider and RSM admissions. The substance used alone does not determine whether detox is necessary.

Planning admission after detox

  1. Submit your RSM application.
  2. Speak with the intake coordinator about approval, bed availability, and your planned transition.
  3. Coordinate discharge and pickup with RSM in advance. RSM can help arrange pickup after discharge when confirmed with the team.

For detox assessment, contact Creekside Behavioral Health in Kingsport, Tennessee, at 888-699-6290. Do not delay urgent medical care while waiting for an RSM application or bed; call 911 in an emergency.

Choose the men’s or women’s application above, or call for help getting started. Complete it and select Submit. Your application goes directly to the intake coordinator for review.

  2. 2

    Connect with the intake coordinator

The intake coordinator reviews your application and may call you. You can also follow up by phone and let us know you have just submitted it.

  3. 3

    Have an over-the-phone interview

We will discuss your recovery and legal needs, health, mobility, medications, and the steps to prepare for your arrival. Medications must be reviewed and approved during admissions.

  4. 4

    Discuss the intake processing fee

After the interview, we will discuss the non-refundable $1,000 intake processing fee, which applies at all four campuses. We typically ask you to bring the full fee, or half ($500). If that is not possible, discuss a deposit toward the fee and a payment arrangement with admissions before arrival.

  5. 5

Receive approval and an arrival date

Once everything is approved, we will schedule your intake day and confirm your assigned campus. RSM determines placement based on your recovery and legal needs and campus availability.

We understand that timing matters.
Admissions often moves quickly. When the review, interview, and approvals are complete and space is available, next-day entry may be possible. Timing varies; wait for your confirmed intake date before traveling.

FOR FAMILIES

Love can be honest
and still be hopeful.

You cannot force lasting change, but you can offer support without hiding consequences or carrying the entire burden yourself. A calm, nonjudgmental conversation can make it easier for someone to consider help.

“I love you. I’m concerned about what addiction is doing to your life, and I’m willing to help you call and learn about the next step.”

COMMON QUESTIONS

Answers before you call.

How long is the program?

RSM requires a minimum of 12 months at all four campuses, progressing through three core phases and an optional transition phase. The length creates space for spiritual growth, inner healing, new habits, practical preparation, and a thoughtful transition.

How much does it cost?

The non-refundable intake processing fee is $1,000 at all four campuses, with no ongoing monthly fee. Insurance is not required. The $1,000 fee is payable out of pocket only and is not covered by insurance. After the phone interview, admissions will discuss bringing the full fee, half ($500), or an agreed deposit toward the fee if needed. Confirm your payment arrangement before arrival. Admissions will explain what the fee covers. Do not let money stop you from applying. If you are experiencing homelessness or cannot afford the full amount, speak with admissions about possible payment arrangements.

Can someone come directly to RSM while intoxicated or in withdrawal?

A clean drug screen is not required, but you cannot arrive intoxicated. A qualified medical professional should assess withdrawal risk before arrival. When medical detox is needed, complete it with a qualified provider before entering RSM. Coordinate admission and detox discharge with our intake team. Do not stop prescribed medication without your prescriber’s guidance. Call 911 for an emergency.

Are medications allowed?

All medications must be reviewed and approved during admissions. Share your complete medication list before arrival. Bring a one-month supply of approved medications and prepare to pay for them. Follow your prescriber’s guidance; do not stop or change medication on your own.

Can you provide an acceptance letter for legal purposes?

Yes. After your application has been reviewed and you have been approved, RSM can prepare an acceptance letter for you, your attorney, probation officer, or another appropriate legal contact. Tell the intake coordinator who needs the letter and where it should be sent.

Which campus will I enter?

RSM operates separate homes for men and women in Tennessee and Virginia. RSM assigns your campus based on an evaluation of your recovery and legal needs and space in the program.

What if the person I love is not ready?

You can still call to learn about the program, prepare for a healthier conversation, and understand what steps may be available. It may take more than one caring conversation before someone accepts help.
